Delicious Green Smoothie

This smoothie is packed with nutrients and fiber, and tastes phenomenal!  Great for breakfast or a midday snack.  On evenings when I am teaching yoga, I have it for dinner so I can feel satisfied before class and still feel comfortable enough to teach.

Green Smoothie

Please excuse the rough measurements.  That’s just how I roll in the kitchen.  It’s fun to experiment with the proportions that work best for you!

 

Ingredients:

 

- 1/2 a banana

 

- 1/2 an avocado

 

- chunk of cucumber (about 1/4 of a regular size cucumber)

 

- handful of kale

 

- handful of swiss chard

 

- piece of fresh ginger

 

- juice of 1/2 a lemon

 

- ice

 

- about 3/4 cups of coconut water, depending on how thick you like it

 

Place all ingredients in a high power blender.  Blend until smooth and enjoy!

    I’ve made a similar smoothie using apple juice instead of coconut water, but this actually sounds better. Thanks.
